The Mission and History of Wild West Cycling Adventures
Wild West Cycling Adventures offers affordable, supported, multi-day Road Cycling and Mountain Biking adventures around the San Francisco Bay Area/Wine Country and the High Sierras/Lake Tahoe Region during the Spring through Fall seasons. We also offer Mountain Biking in the Las Vegas/Mojave Region during the Winter season. Our tours venture into scenic areas that provide challenging rides through venues of historical significance. Wild West Cycling emphasizes a high level of customer service and provides comfortable lodging during our adventure tours. Importantly, many of our longer tours provide 1 to 2 nights of additional inn stays vs. comparable tours, yet are more affordable. One of our objectives is to provide our guests with more for less. Our 2008 Schedule will be coming out shortly.
Randall Lee (left) is the principle founder of Wild West Cycling Adventures. Randall was raised in San Francisco, California and has lived in the Golden State for a number of years. This has made him very familiar with the cycling topography of the region. Randall has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley and a MBA from the University of Chicago. In addition, Randall has worked at major employers such as San Francisco State University, Hewlett-Packard, Bank of America, and Salomon-Smith Barney - organizations that emphasize superior service/product design and delivery.
Randall has been actively involved in endurance-oriented sports for the past 25 years. He has consistently been a top finisher in multi-sport events, such as triathlons and duathlons, and local runs throughout that time. During the 2003-2007 period, Randall entered and completed four Full Vineman Triathlons, a full Ironman-distance event. During the 2003-2005 period, he consistently improved his finishing time each successive year.
Other than competing in endurance-oriented competitions, Randall has been leading road and MTB group rides around California, Nevada, the Pacific Northwest, and Colorado for the past 15 years. In addition Randall founded the University of Northern Colorado Cycling Team, which was a national championship team in collegiate mountain biking and national qualifier for collegiate road cycling, while he was a doctoral student there. More recently, Randall has served as the faculty founder and advisor for the San Francisco State University Cycling Team. In the near future, Randall will be receiving his USA Cycling Coach's certification.
In 2004, Randall began to create Wild West Cycling Adventures. In addition to working with Trips For Kids, a non-profit organization that introduces disadvantaged young people to mountain biking in the natural environment, Randall is presently devoting his other efforts towards the development of Wild West Cycling Adventures. Wild West Cycling has been a positive endeavor that combines Randall's past experiences in business and collegiate education with his passions for cycling with others. We hope that you can join us for an adventure tour and become a part of Wild West Cycling.
