Wild West Cycling's Tour of California includes a number of amenities to maximize and deepen your cycling experience!
Accomodations - We include 9 nights of stay in motor inns that have been rated by AAA. These comfortable inns are generally within close proximity to the daily Starts or Finishes of AMGEN's Tour of California, so you will be close to the pros' racing action! The rooms are generally Double Occupancy. However, you may opt for a Single Occupancy for an additional supplement of $500, of which $50 is due upon reservation and $450 will be due 30 days prior to the start of the Tour. As soon as we receive our minimum tour guest participation, we will book all of the lodging and confirm the precise locations with you. (Note: You may need to take Ground Transportation to the first night's stay on 2/17 in the San Francisco Bay Area.)
Vehicle Support - We have a full-sized passenger van to transport riders, guests, bikes, and luggage throughout our tour. We may use additional vehicles if the need arises.
Rider Support - The one to two vehicles that we use for transportation will also support riders during their 7 days and 532 miles of cycling. During the ride, the vehicle(s) will have sports drinks in squeeze bottles, energy gels, and other endurance-oriented nourishment available. In addition, the driver(s) will be able to assist with minor mechanical problems that you may encounter. One to two riding tour guides, knowledgeable about each day's route, will accompany and assist the guest riders. In addition, you will be equipped with directions prior to each day's ride. Lastly, you may end a day's ride early and rest in the van if you so desire.
Meals - During the 7 full days of activity and Day 9 Return, we provide two complete meals each day. The pre-ride breakfasts will be a delectable assortment of endurance-oriented food and drinks. The post-ride dinners will be a delicious arrangement of recovery-oriented food and drinks. While some of these meals may be homemade if the proper facilities are available, many will be prepared by restaurants and other reputable service providers.
